ACG's 6th Annual Conference on Total Building Commissioning , held last week in Las Vegas , was a resounding success! A sample of attendee comments:
"The best commissioning conference I have been to in years."
"The program for this years conference was very interesting, relevant (concerning huge interest and expansion in energy services) and included very good speakers."
"Great location, interesting topics, and the CxA workshop was excellent."
From how to make the business case for retrocommissioning , to a detailed look at how ASHRAE 189.1 will affect commissioning providers; from the preview of the AABC Energy Management Program to an eye-opening presentation on building envelope commissioning , the conference gave attendees a look at what's going on right now, and what's coming soon in the commissioning and energy arenas.
Roundtable discussions were energizing and well received, and will return next year. They included spirited discussions of independence and avoiding conflicts of interest, and detailed thoughts on both TAB verification and controls verification. Information gathered from other discussions will also be used for an ACG effort to strengthen the commissioning requirements in the next version of LEED, to guide ACG's marketing efforts on behalf of its members, and to inform the electrical commissioning portion of the next ACG Commissioning Guideline.
