The Authorities in Certification to Exhibit at AHR Expo
Presenting on The Hidden Power of O&M, the ACG Cx Guideline, Maximizing the Value of TAB, and more
The Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), the AABC Commissioning Group, and the Energy Management Association will exhibit at AHR Expo 2026, the world’s largest HVACR marketplace, in booth C6229.
Each of the three groups will also present sessions on AHR’s technical program. EMA board member Kevin Brown, EMP (KBSquared), will present The Hidden Power of O&M: Practical Tools for Real Energy Savings (Feb. 3, 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Location S226), which will equip building personnel with actionable techniques to optimize operations, reduce waste, and enhance system performance.
Highlights of AABC’s appearance include a presentation led by Robert Kolnes, TBE, CxA (TABITT), titled Fundamentals of Test, Adjust, and Balance for Engineers, Cx & Energy Providers (Feb. 4, 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.; Location S226), and another led by Jeremy Johnson, TBE (American Testing, Inc.), titled Maximizing the Value of Testing, Adjusting & Balancing in Existing Buildings (Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.; Location S226). The first session will discuss the TAB process and other challenges as they relate to the engineer, Cx or energy provider perspective and explore how addressing these challenges with an independent TAB firm can ensure that a project goes smoothly. The second will explore TAB strategies for facility managers overseeing existing buildings, helping attendees understand how to leverage TAB for improved system performance, energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and regulatory compliance.
ACG board member Loren Morris, P.E., CxA, EMP, LEED AP (TMCx Solutions, LLC), will be a panelist for Next-Gen HVACR: Developing Skills, Opportunity, Innovation and Collaboration for Sustainable Growth, a session sharing innovative approaches to recruiting and training the next generation of HVACR professionals. AHR attendees can also learn more about Cx best practices in the ACG Building Systems Commissioning Guideline Overview (Feb. 3, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m.; Location S226) presented by James Magee, CxA, EMP, LEED AP (MACx Consulting).
ACG will also host a Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) workshop on February 3-4 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Room N232), followed by an administration of the exam for approved candidates. The 2-day, 12-hour workshop includes discussion of the commissioning process as described in the ACG Building Systems Commissioning Guideline, as well as valuable practical insight on skills, strategies, and communication and documentation protocols essential to applying the process on “real world” projects.
